Gift planning is a very specific and technical form of fundraising that involves the integration of a donor’s personal, financial, and charitable goals. Planned gifts come in various forms during a donor’s lifetime or through his or her estate and often represents the largest gift a donor makes.

Because responsible gift planning requires in-depth knowledge of giving techniques, trust calculations, and estate planning, it is often cost-prohibitive for an organization to hire a dedicated gift planning professional. The Omaha Community Foundation seeks to centralize this function for non-profits to:

  • Enable non-profits to benefit from planned gifts without having to hire additional staff
  • Make gift planning accessible and cost-effective for non-profits

The Omaha Community Foundation partners with non-profits to assist them with gift planning for the benefit of each organization.
