The Omaha Community Foundation can support you at every step in the charitable giving process. For all of our donors, we are happy to help:
Consolidate your charitable record keeping
- by maintaining a historical record of your charitable contributions and grants, and
- by providing you with quarterly statements detailing your fund or foundation’s activity.
Preserve the integrity of your charitable contributions
- by researching the status of charitable organizations with the IRS,
- by working with your advisors to ensure your charitable gifts suit your personal circumstances, and
- by ensuring no goods or services were received as a result of your charitable grants.
Identify what causes most interest you or your family
- by working with you to help your family identify your charitable values and mission statement, and
- by mentoring successive generations in your family as they develop their own charitable interests.
Update you on the local, regional, and national charitable news and events
- through Donor Connect e-mail briefings,
- by providing you with access to a library of comprehensive resources on diverse philanthropic issues,
- by providing you access to several networks conducting local, regional, and national grantmaking training,
- by assisting you in procuring national select training opportunities, if desired,
- by connecting you with national experts, and
- by hosting timely educational seminars on community needs, local charitable organizations and resources, and giving trends and strategies.
Connect with other donors and charitable organizations with similar interests
- by inviting your participating in Donor Connect events,
- through OmahaConnect internet subscriptions (view-only),
- by analyzing local charitable programs addressing causes that matter to you, and
- by assisting you and donors of similar interests in collaborative giving.
Facilitate complex forms of giving and execute technical giving instruments
(such as charitable remainder trusts)
- by facilitating gifts of alternative assets that are most tax efficient for you,
- by helping place your in kind gifts with appropriate organizations,
- by providing you and your advisors with charitable gift estate planning expertise, and
- by realizing the importance of integrating of your personal, financial, and charitable objectives.
Access information on community needs
- by inviting your participation in the Fund for Omaha,
- by convening a group of local experts to address a specific cause of special interest to you,
- by inviting you to participate in site visits to local charitable organizations,
- by providing you with information on specific, timely grantmaking opportunities.
Help the organizations you care about
- by consulting to organizations that matter to you on board development, capacity building, grantwriting, & more.

- and by developing and implementing a custom grantmaking program for you and your family.
